The senior engineer mechanical becomes the link between engineering and production.
As the senior engineer mechanical, you will have a guiding role within your team, while you ensure a seamless collaboration across disciplines. You’re responsible for the delivery of high-quality and timely engineering solution of luxury yachts.Â
This client, with multiple locations worldwide, opened this location just a few years back. Not only do they built the most beautiful, and luxurious larger yachts, they also modernised existing ones!
The responsibilities of the senior engineer mechanical,
- Overseeing the 3D modeling, the detailed engineering, and the final design to ensure accuracy and quality;
- Ensuring compliance with the industry regulations, flag state requirements, and classification societies;
- Identifying and resolving technical bottlenecks, partially by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams;
- Maintaining the engineering quality by reviewing drawings and documentations before their submission;
- Assisting in the development and the improvement of engineering standards, innovation, and methodologies;
- Coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and with production to align on technical requirements and feasibility;
- Guiding and mentoring a team of apprentices and engineers, coaching them, and providing them with technical direction and inspections.
The senior engineer mechanical brings,
- A Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or related study;
- At least 5 years of work experience as an Engineer in Shipbuilding and/or yacht building;
- Relevant software knowledge of 3D AutoCAD, Cadmatic, and Teamcenter;
- A good command of the English language, both verbal and written;
- Knowledge from, and experience with, exterior engineering, moving equipment and equipment integration;
- An insight into cable and panel planning, systems on board, and weight and budgeting.
- A deep technical insight into yacht building and production and construction processes.
- Analytical traits with high working standards, and a quality- and result driven work ethic.
