As a Junior Electrical Engineer, you will develop your technical expertise while contributing to electrical installations for high-end superyachts.
What will you do as a Junior Electrical Engineer?
In this role, you will receive training in relevant CAD software and become familiar with the engineering processes used within the luxury yacht-building industry. Under the guidance of an experienced Electrical Engineer or System Engineer, you will work on the calculation, design, and integration of electrical installations aboard superyachts.
As you gain experience, you will gradually take greater responsibility for your own designs and technical documentation. This allows you to develop step by step into an independent Electrical Engineer within a technically complex and innovative working environment.
Your responsibilities
- Designing home automation and lighting systems for luxury superyachts;
- Contributing to the design of electrical distribution systems;
- Supporting the electrical integration of onboard systems and equipment;
- Performing electrical calculations to substantiate technical designs;
- Preparing designs and technical documentation for assessment by classification societies and other relevant authorities;
- Drawing up specifications for electrical materials, equipment, and components;
- Translating electrical designs into technical drawings and specifications;
- Working with CAD software and further developing your knowledge of EPLAN;
- Verifying that designs comply with project requirements, technical standards, and applicable regulations;
- Providing technical support during the production and installation phases;
- Supporting the testing, commissioning, and handover of equipment and systems;
- Collaborating with experienced engineers, project teams, production departments, and other technical disciplines;
- Contributing to newbuild, service, and refit projects.
Working within the yacht-building sector
You will work for an internationally operating maritime systems integrator specializing in electrical and automation systems aboard luxury superyachts, naval vessels, and submarines. Within this organization, technical craftsmanship, innovation, and advanced engineering come together.
You will join a multidisciplinary engineering department responsible for systems integration and electrical design for newbuild, service, and refit projects. The projects are technically complex, and every superyacht is custom-built. The solutions you develop during the engineering phase will eventually become visible in the workshop and aboard a fully operational vessel.
You will work alongside experienced colleagues who will guide you and help you expand your professional expertise. This makes the position an excellent starting point for your career in maritime engineering.

You are a motivated and eager-to-learn engineer with an interest in maritime electrical engineering. You work accurately and systematically and enjoy translating theoretical knowledge into practical and feasible designs. Requirements
- You have recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field;
- You have gained experience in designing electrical installations through your education, an internship, or previous employment;
- You have an affinity with maritime electrical engineering, systems integration, and luxury yacht building;
- You are eager to develop your career within engineering;
- You have knowledge of or experience with EPLAN, or you are motivated to learn how to use it;
- You are interested in working with CAD software and technical drawings;
- You work accurately, methodically, and in a structured manner;
- You have strong communication and collaboration skills;
- You are proficient in both Dutch and English, written and spoken;
- You are eligible to work in the Netherlands.
