As a Design & Proposal Engineer, you handle customer requests by creating ship designs and determining the construction cost. Your goal is to ensure the design meets customer and classification requirements while keeping costs as low as possible.
Your work includes
- Designing and modifying ships according to customer requirements/criteria, regulations and based on standard designs;
- Preparing the general plan, technical specifications, cost price calculation, delivery date, offer and presentation to the customer
- Optimising (standard) designs in order to reduce the cost price and increase the quality, reliability and functionality of the vessels;
- Consulting with customers and various internal departments and external parties (e.g. engineers and subcontractors) to arrive at an optimised design;
What you need
- You have completed a Bachelor degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering;
- You have work experience in Engineering within the shipbuilding industry;
- You are proficient in the English language, both spoken and written;
- You have customer-oriented mindset;
- You have strong communication skills, the ability to set priorities effectively, and an efficient work approach;
- You are eligible to work in Europe/the Netherlands
