As a Yacht Project Engineer Mechanical Systems, you will coordinate the engineering of onboard mechanical systems and ensure that engineering, suppliers, and production remain fully aligned.
What will you do as a Yacht Project Engineer Mechanical Systems?
In this role, you will coordinate the engineering process for a wide range of onboard mechanical systems. You will ensure that technical information, supplier documentation, and design changes are delivered on time and correctly incorporated throughout the yacht construction process.
Your responsibilities
- Coordinating the engineering of mechanical systems throughout the yacht construction process;
- Monitoring engineering progress, technical deliverables, and project schedules;
- Coordinating technical interfaces between different engineering disciplines;
- Aligning suppliers, procurement, engineering, and production;
- Reviewing supplier documentation and technical specifications;
- Ensuring engineering packages match onboard installation requirements;
- Coordinating exhaust, cooling water, fuel, and fresh-water systems;
- Supporting ventilation, air-conditioning, and compressed-air systems;
- Coordinating bilge, fire-fighting, black-water, and grey-water systems;
- Identifying technical risks, bottlenecks, and potential delays;
- Managing and communicating engineering changes;
- Supporting budget monitoring within the mechanical engineering scope;
- Safeguarding compliance with class requirements, technical standards, and project specifications;
- Acting as a technical point of contact during construction and commissioning.
Working within luxury yacht building
You will work in a technically advanced shipbuilding environment where custom and semi-custom luxury yachts of approximately 60 to 70 metres are constructed. Engineering and production are closely connected, allowing technical solutions to be aligned directly with onboard construction requirements.
You will join an international and multidisciplinary environment where quality, cooperation, and practical engineering are central. Your involvement throughout the construction process enables you to see engineering information and supplier systems come together in a fully operational yacht.

You are a technically strong Project Engineer who enjoys maintaining an overview within complex projects. You understand onboard mechanical systems and know how to connect technical information from different disciplines and suppliers.
Requirements
- You have at least three years of relevant experience within yacht building or shipbuilding;
- You have experience with mechanical engineering for maritime projects;
- You have experience coordinating engineering activities, suppliers, or technical deliverables;
- You have strong knowledge of piping, ventilation, cooling, fuel, exhaust, and water systems;
- You can interpret technical documentation, specifications, and supplier information;
- You understand the technical interfaces between different engineering disciplines;
- You can monitor progress, engineering changes, and technical risks in a structured manner;
- Experience with CATIA is preferred;
- Experience with Siemens NX or other shipbuilding design systems is an advantage;
- You possess strong organizational and communication skills;
- You can work independently and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team;
- You have an excellent command of written and spoken English;
- You are eligible to work in the Netherlands.
