The mechanical engineer executes the four phases of engineering and assesses the input of detailed engineering to ensure the quality of mechanical system integrations. Â
This soon-to-be mechanical engineer is at the start of their career, ready to jump onto the ship and become part of our engineering team, and translates technical specifications into Basic and Detailed Engineering packages.
The responsibilities of the mechanical engineer
- Executing the four phases of engineering;
- Assessing the input of detailed engineering;
- Working closely with the stakeholders;
- Monitoring the quality and organize the interface and system integration with co-makers;
- Performing load/power-related calculations and strength and flow calculations;
- Supporting the Class & National Authorities approval process;
- Preparing the technical space layout, the system diagrams, the outfitting arrangements, the technical specifications for systems and equipment, and assessments of the supplier specifications;
- Coordinating the outsourcing of work to external engineering/subcontractors.
The mechanical engineer brings
- A bachelor’s degree within the field of Mechanical Engineering;
- An open mindset to– and an interest in the innovation of new technologies;
- Excellent communication skills, and an excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken;
- Eligibility to work in the Netherlands.
