The System Engineer oversees the architecture, coordination, and integration of advanced onboard systems and installations within shipbuilding projects.
In the role of system engineer, you devise system solutions independently and serve as the point of contact for your project team and the customer.Â
This client does not realise that the system integrations and automation system are in place; they also remain responsible for their custom-made ships throughout their entire life cycle.
The responsibilities of the system engineer,
- Determining the overall system architecture and ensuring the electrical integration of all onboard systems;
- Initiating, coordinating, and executing detailed engineering activities;
- Preparing technical specifications for systems and selecting appropriate components and materials;
- Analysing complex technical challenges and developing effective system solutions;
- Reviewing, editing, and evaluating technical documentation and data;
- Consulting with clients, end users, and classification societies to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements;
- Advising on system design and overseeing the commissioning of complex systems;
- Participating in internal and external FATs, as well as HATs and SATs for complex installations.
The system engineer brings,
-  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering;
- Proven experience in designing and engineering electrical installations;
- Strong knowledge of materials and components related to electrical and control engineering systems;
- Experience with EPLAN is considered an advantage;
- Familiarity with classification society regulations is a plus;
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, in the English language;
- The eligibility to work in the Netherlands.
